Dior blooms again

Dior blooms again

For Spring 2013, Dior has returned to the garden backdrop for their haute couture collection. There are a lot of box hedges surrounding huge blossoming trees. The flowers appear on the frocks in an appliqué form rather than the floral prints we have been seeing of late. This adds a new texture, almost, if you squint through your fingers, as if the dresses had been showered with drifting blooms from above.

We are still not sure if Raf Simons is filling even one of Galliano’s shoes, but hey, where there’s floral there’s fun. Some of the designs look decidedly Sander-ish, but some capture the full-blown feminine romantic look that Dior is most famous for.

Our favourites are looks 13, 21, 36 & 41
