Flowers Vasette were elated to be invited to design and create the flowers for the recent wedding of actress Olympia Valance and former AFL player Thomas Bellchambers. We delighted in this opportunity to display our aptitude for creativity, designing lush, Venetian style arrangements to accentuate the romantic and moody atmosphere of the entire occasion.
On the week preceding the wedding, our Vasette team descended on the cosy hamlet of Wheatsheaf, and spent time foraging, curating, and producing unforgettable floral arrangements. The couple’s own property, nearby in Glenlyon, graciously provided most of the foliage we used throughout the event. We foraged cypress, spruce, and white bark eucalyptus, allowing us to bring the soft and familiar nature of the couple’s home surroundings to their special day.
On the day, our team assisted the bridal party, each of whom were adorned with red Nina roses. We pinned red rose boutonnieres onto the groom and his groomsmen, the bright red standing out against Thomas’ dark MJ Bale suit. The bridesmaids, dressed by Marquise Bridal, all wore white and held vibrant bouquets of red Nina roses. These red roses evoke memories of Olympia’s iconic red lipstick and served as a principal motif throughout the entire event. The bride’s extraordinary pearl dress, designed by J’Aton Couture, was a pinnacle of the occasion. The bride’s father and stepfather wore white rose boutonnieres, while the bride herself held a delicate white phalaenopsis orchid as she walked down the aisle.
“I’ve loved the work of Flowers Vasette for as long as I can remember, so working with them on our wedding was a dream come true.” – Olympia Bellchambers
The Farm Daylesford provided the perfect venue for the occasion, with the ceremony taking place outdoors against the beautiful natural backdrop of regional Victoria. The couple were married underneath a luscious arbour we created from locally foraged foliage. This cascading greenery was accented with bright red Nina roses, and deep red orchids, hydrangea, and peonies. This abundant greenery continued indoors, where it accompanies the gold, emerald and deep red elegance of Sophie Storen’s creative vision.
Inside the venue, guests were greeted by Adelphi Mou’s excellent stationery and signage, to an enchanted forest setting. The rustic interior was splashed with tall green assemblies of foliage, illuminated by ornate chandeliers provided by Chandelier Hire. With staging, lighting, and sound, provided by Technical Events, and entertainment curated by Amy Vaughan Creative, guests sat down to enjoy delectable food and drinks catered by Cookes Food, with floral table centrepieces curated by our Flowers Vasette Founder, Cherrie Miriklis.
Each intimate dining table was ornamented with a uniquely designed floral arrangement. Cherrie’s originality shone through each carefully created arrangement, combining deep red and purple tones of tulips, orchids, scabiosa flowers, and of course red Nina roses. These florals sat atop log slices and incorporated apples, passionfruit, and dark foliage. These exceptional arrangements were complimented by bespoke tableware from Lusso Event Hire, napery from Table Art Event Hire and furniture from Dann Event Hire.
Flowers Vasette thanks Thomas and Olympia Bellchambers for allowing us to help celebrate their exquisite wedding, and Vogue Australia for featuring us in their article about this truely magnificent event.
