We were recently invited by Theodore Magazine, alongside some of Melbourne’s finest wedding creatives, to share our perspective on what’s ahead for 2026. The key theme?
Resonance.
Weddings are becoming more intimate, more intentional.
Focus has shifted from spectacle to meaning.
It’s less about tradition for tradition’s sake, and more about encapsulating the uniqueness of the couple.
Gone are the expectations of traditional settings, extended guest lists, and formalities. In their place: a simple question – what does the couple truly want for their day?
With smaller celebrations comes the desire for more curated & refined floral styling. Couples are now more engaged in the process than ever before.
In particular, sculptural, layered, and lush silhouettes are often being requested.
From bud vases trailing along tables, to feature & accent arrangements from ceremony to reception.
We’re seeing a rise in intimate considered floral moments, woven thoughtfully throughout the space.
A popular and cost effective way to double the impact is to repurpose florals from ceremony to reception.
The Modernised Bouquet
Oversized, domed rose bouquets are stepping aside. It’s all about organic silhouettes, mono-bloom statements, and florals en masse with minimal foliage.
Bouquets feel airy and free; almost as if gathered from a garden capturing the alluring spirit of an ethereal meadow.
The “anti-bride” aesthetic continues to gain momentum throughout 2025, with some couples choosing to forgo traditional bouquets altogether.
Instead, they’re opting for wearable florals including shoulder lapels, floral corsages, even clutch bags entirely made of blooms. A quiet nod to tradition, with a distinctly modern twist.

A Hint of Nostalgia
A subtle revival of 1980s glamour is also making its way back – elegant, not excessive. Think cascading florals like amaranthus, orchids, and calla lilies that complement the big bold forms of the 1980s.
There’s no rulebook on which flowers to choose. If a certain bloom holds sentimental value, all the more reason to include these in your celebration.
A Shift in Setting
City-style weddings, such as registry office ceremonies followed by long lunches at venues such as Gimlet, Society or Cutler & Co or smaller parties at Apollo Inn, are on the rise.
The afterparty is also having its moment. Many couples now design an entirely separate floral mood for their post-formal celebrations: darker, moodier, sometimes even playful.
What’s Rising: Tablescapes as Art
Visual direction is moving towards cohesive, layered table designs. Fruits, candles, mixed vessels, and sculptural florals create a narrative across the tabletop.
Vibrant grouped tones and monochromatic colours are popular in terms of colour palette. In particular, we’ve seen a rise in deep burgundies and rich reds, reminiscent of Gucci’s Rosso Ancora.
We believe, nothing ever truly goes out of style, it simply gets reimagined.
