Porter Green are global leaders in unbreakable silicone drinkware, with a focus on blending sustainable living with chic design. We are delighted to announce our collaborative partnership with them to work towards a more sustainable future together.
Mary and Jane, the co-founders, were inspired by a vision to create products that seamlessly combined form and function. One Saturday afternoon, Jane proposed the name for their new venture: Porter Green. “Porter” not only reflected the French verb meaning “to carry” but also honored their remarkable mother’s maiden name. “Green” symbolised their shared commitment to the planet and paid tribute to their paternal grandmother’s maiden name, Greening.
Why switch to silicone drinkware? Not only can it withstand extreme temperatures, but it doesn’t break down into dangerous microplastics that pollute the oceans. Unlike many materials, silicone does not release toxins when burned and possesses antimicrobial properties, protecting against bacteria, mold, mildew, and other hazardous microbes. Previous alternatives to glassware were predominantly polycarbonate and acrylic which would crack in dishwashers and become discoloured overtime. Porter Green’s silicone drinkware ensures product longevity, making it a durable and eco-friendly choice.
With their global success in drinkware, Porter Green has also expanded to include crockery using bamboo as their primary material.
Bamboo is naturally sterile, antibacterial and biodegradable. It’s a renewable resource that can be harvested responsibly without harming the environment, it is fast-growing, regenerates quickly, requires little water, it doesn’t need pesticides or fertilizers, improves soil quality, absorbs carbon and produces oxygen. Their bamboo pieces are handmade in Vietnam and finished with a food safe coating, making it a beautiful, lightweight, and sustainable way to serve your favorite dishes.
When it comes to enjoying a drink in their signature fegg (foldable + ethical + go anywhere + glass), the team’s favorite choice is a margarita—especially when paired with SIPPS mixers. SIPPS, another female-owned brand with a sustainability-first ethos, focuses on quality ingredients to create fresh, innovative flavors.
ogether, Porter Green and SIPPS exemplify the power of sustainability-focused brands coming together to create a brighter, greener future. Cheers to sustainable living and stylish design!
From car-pooling to office where possible to using solar-generated energy for both at home and in office, the Porter Green team truly live and breathe sustainability. Outside of work, they enjoy reconnecting with nature through walks, cycling, hiking, and swimming. They also share a passion for good food, local markets, and sustainable produce.
One of Mary’s favourite weekend rituals is to cycle down to Vasette to collect her weekly flowers; a few other weekend relaxation recommendations are visiting CLAY in Rathdowne Street, Morning Market on Gertrude and Market Lane, and Baker D. Chirico in Carlton.
