Each year, on the 7th day of the 7th month in the Lunar calendar, China embraces the enchanting Qixi Festival, a celebration that whispers of eternal romance and celestial dreams. Known as the “Chinese Valentine’s Day,” this captivating festival weaves together tradition and love.
The festival’s charm stems from the poignant legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. This ancient tale tells of a humble young man and a divine maiden who, despite their profound love, are separated by the vast Milky Way. Their only solace is a fleeting annual reunion, made possible by a bridge that arches across the milkyway and the heavens, allowing their hearts to intertwine again.
